Vin Diesel is Building a Movie Studio in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic!

On Sunday afternoon (March 28, 2021), actor Vin Diesel met with the president of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, in Puerto Plata to announce the development of a new movie studio on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic! This is exciting news for the north coast of the Dominican Republic and “Dominican Hollywood” keeps on growing. This news comes right after the wrap of the new Jennifer Lopez movie, Shotgun Wedding, which was being filmed along the north coast during the past weeks along with other movie & television productions featuring actors like Mark Wahlberg, Carla Gugino and more…

This new movie studio will be built by One Race Films, a production company founded by Vin Diesel and it will be an estimated eight million squared meters. President Luis Abinader stated, “We want Bergantin to go down in history as an integral, innovative & sustainable destination. And what better way to integrate the film industry into this new proposal than from the hands of the biggest stars?” Vin Diesel later added that he was “proud to be part of the Dominican people and proud of his friendship” with Luis Abinader.

This movie studio will be great for the Dominican economy, especially along the booming North Coast. This is set to create new jobs and make the north coast a more attractive destination.
